Selling gift cards is a great way to stimulate growth and reduce costs for your business. Along with physical goods and digital downloads, you can also sell gift cards on your eCommerce store. When enabled, customers can buy an electronic gift card for any amount in a range you specify. The gift card will be delivered to the customer via email when the order status is Paid.
To enable gift card purchases in Store:
-
In the left panel, click Sell Online, and then click Manage Store.
-
Click Catalog, and then click Gift Cards.
-
Click Create Gift Card.
-
Either click Create Gift Card or click Edit Settings. You have the following options:
-
Name. Type a name for the gift card.
-
Amounts. A gift card is created with several default amounts. When adding a new amount, make sure that it is no less than the average product price in your store.
-
Image. Upload an image to display on the Store. A different image will display in the email confirmation. To change the image in the email confirmation, you need to edit the gift card email template.
-
Description. Type any additional information customers may need to know about gift card use.
-
Categories. Select the category pages you want the gift card to display on. To feature gift cards on the store home page, select the store front page.
-
Expiry period. Select an expiration period. By default, gift cards are set to never expire.
-
Ensure you comply with the laws of the areas where you sell as setting the expiry period may be illegal in some countries or regions.
After purchase, you receive an email with a unique gift card code and instructions on how to use it. The email subject is "Your gift card is ready."
You can forward the email or send the code and store link to another customer.
To redeem the gift card, enter the code from the email in the field at checkout. The field automatically appears in your store after you set up the gift cards.
A gift card balance can be used in several orders until the full amount is redeemed.
Keep the following in consideration:
-

-
Discount coupons cannot be used for gift card purchases.
-
A gift card cannot be used to buy another gift card.
-
